Sustainability: Investing in a four-season insulated passive solar greenhouse, Botanical Companions relies on pure sunshine for creating and maintaining energy efficiency while also benefiting the quality of the crop! When needed, LED grow lights were chosen to extend the darkest of days in winter. Currently, ~90% of their microgreens come with zero waste through their exchange of food-grade reusable packaging direct to restaurants, through their home subscription, and at farmers markets. The other 10% is supplied in compostable containers. Their newest offering, the favored Microgreen Super Salt, just became "reusable" and is now available in home compostable kraft refill pouches to refill your glass shaker!

Sustainability: In addition to a commitment to organic agriculture and ingredients, Sarvaa Organics donates a portion of every purchase to fight climate change and deforestation by planting seedlings of native tree species and paying daily wages of local people in areas hit by extreme poverty and deforestation. Over 48,000 trees have been planted so far!
They reuse or recycle so much, that Sarvaa Organics now only generates one large bag of trash per month! Plus, they even spend the extra money to purchase the absolute highest quality virgin organic coconut oil in glass jars instead of plastic tubs, which are then donated to a local non-profit organization who washes and reuses them in clever ways as part of their mission. Food waste is now down to around one quart container per month. Sarvaa has also retrofitted their facility with all LED lighting in 2019. And, they use non-toxic cleaning products in their facility.

Sustainability: In addition to selling native plants, organic vegetables, using natural amendments to promote overall soil health and sequester life-giving carbon in the soil, Botanical Concepts uses a variety of programs to diminish waste. For example, their bucket program enables customers to purchase soil by the truckload (or the bucket full!) to reduce the usage of bags. They also plant in fiber pots (instead of single use plastic!) and offer a buy-back program for customers who bring them back.

They pay their employees a living wage.
